David Aronson was Born on February 6th 1988 in upstate New York. David moved to South Florida eight years later. After attending the University of Florida with a BFA in painting he moved to New York City where he now lives and works.
“What I enjoyed most about his art was sitting in his home, as he shared each canvas one by one, asking how I felt about each piece. As I described the impressions I felt staring at each character, we both soon discovered that the identity of these models could really be felt through his depiction of them.” – Candy Behunin (Amen)
David, describe your artwork and an interesting experience you had as an artist? I was inspired to do this collection to raise the mundane up to an exalted and quixotic level. Nipples and eyes are the most expressive parts of our bodies. One interesting experience I had while working on a portrait was when a model asked me to strip down as well. An unusual, but seemingly fair request. – blog.getamen.com
The painter of the nudes, David Mitchell Aronson, said a Tea Lounge employee acting as curator had suggested he mask the breasts. He complied despite his reservations and still found a subtle way to mock the modesty. ”Some of the subjects are male, so, in the interests of equality, I hid their nipples too,” Mr. Aronson said. – Wall Street Journal
